Lisova Pisnya of Lesya Ukrayinka translated into Bengali - Aranya Sangeet (The Forest Song)

This multi-lingual (Bengali-English-Ukrainian) edition of Lisova Pisyna (Forest Song in English and Aranya Sangeet in Bengali) contains the first ever translation of this masterpiece of Ukrainian literature by the classical poetess of Ukraine, Lesya Ukrayinka into Bengali by Dr. Mridula Ghosh. It also contains several research papers by Dr. Olena Ohnieva, elucidating a very interesting fact, that the source of inspiration behind the creation of this beautiful fairytale in the form of a drama, was the Rig Veda, six hymns of which were translated by Lesya Ukrayinka. Lesya wrote this work reinterpreting the Ukrainian mythology and demonology through the metaphor of ancient Indian images of the characters of Rig Veda. It makes a fascinating reading for Bengali, English as well as Ukrainian readers.
